The story of
Our Church

1st Church Site | July 4th, 1989

After years of ministering and hosting home bible studies. the Pruitt’s along with a handful of other families, held service for the first time in the Newark Township Building on July 4th, 1989.

2nd Church Site | August 1989

Five weeks later, the church had grown enough that we needed to find a new place to meet. On August 8th, we moved to the Beloit YWCA building.

3rd Church Site | Sept. ‘89 - Feb. ‘91

After only 3 months of coming together, growth once again pushed us to finding a larger space to congregate. In the following 18 months, the church would grow to over 200 people.

New Build, Phase 1 | October 1990

In October 1990, just 15 months after our first service, we bought 11 acres of corn field property and broke ground on our first church campus. In February 1991, we held our first service in the new sanctuary and soon after grew to over 300 people in attendance and holding two Sunday services each weekend.

New Build, Phase 2 | October 1993

God continued to move in our church, touch lives, and bring hundreds into the Kingdom of God. By October of 1993, attendance had grown to the point that a building expansion was necessary. We broke ground on Phase 2 of our campus building in Beloit, adding a new, 6,000 square-foot sanctuary and new office facilities. During this time, we grew to over 500 members in attendance.

New Build, Phase 3 | October 1994

It was clear to everyone in the City of Beloit and the surrounding area that there was a powerful move of God happening at our church. One quick year later and it was time to build again! Phase 3 added a new fellowship hall, as well as a kitchen and new classrooms to facilitate various ministries for children, youth, and adults. During this phase, our weekly attendees reach well over 700.

New Build, Phase 4 | October 1997

At 700+ attending, we were busting at the seems and launched next phase of expansion and growth. The new addition added a new, much bigger sanctuary, office wing, and other ministry facilities. Phase 4 brought with it the highest jump in attendance so far with our weekly count surpassing 1000 attendants.

New Build, Phase 5 | February 1999

In the years that followed, we saw God show up week after week, touching lives and impacting the region for the Kingdom. Our exciting youth ministry and a powerful children’s ministry were touching the lives of children of all ages. In February of 1999, we completed construction of our new children’s ministry wing to facilitate all the amazing things God was doing in those ministries!

By November of 2001, our church was over to 1,500 weekly attendants and was not only a beloved presence and influence in the surrounding communities, but was also a mighty beacon for the Kingdom of God in the region. It was at this time that Pastors Jerry & Gloria heard God calling them to move to Phoenix, AZ and open the doors of another church.

Phoenix, AZ | 43rd Ave & Olive | January 2002

Upon arriving in Phoenix, we quickly found a home. Renting the facility and remolding with only a handful of people meeting in lawn chairs. The church quickly grew to over 800 people, multiply services, outreaches and illustrated sermons. There was a genuine move of God, hundreds coming to Christ, many main stream speakers coming and prophesying over our church. Kim Clement was one of them. We began to search for our own property. We purchased our land where the church is currently located.

We began remolding and preparing to have service at the new location. Everyone brought their giftings and abilities to take care of God’s house. We grew to multiple services quickly, as well as strong children & youth programs. In 2017 Pastor Barb took over as the Lead Pastor of Faith Builders Church. Our mission is to “To bring people that are far from God close to him that they might become fully devoted followers of Christ”.
